Hey in my opinion there are a lot of great books such as this that are great investment in your continuing education. In my college inspection courses I use several books that are generically intended to help new inspectors learn about the various building systems. Secondly, the money obviously goes to a better cause. That is highly commendable! Beside I really enjoy Joe’s willingness to share his knowledge with others.
However, as a few words of caution, as inspectors we also need to be aware of the differences that exist particularly with respect to your specific inspection area of practice. Example - in my area Ontario Electrical Safety Code. They also share many issues in common, but there are differences, none-the-less. At the same time we also need to realize we are not the final authority and we inspect under a different set of standards or guidelines than the AHJ. (Authority Having Jurisdiction)
