This electrical box was mounted directly under the floor of a newer dishwasher. Anyone know what it is for?.
You’ll find it in the manual or install guide for the appliance (presumably a Bosch).
Thanks, that is the first time I have seen one. Are they usually hidden?

Are they usually hidden?..
They are usually screwed to the back wall of the dishwasher opening.
Well, that hole is for letting mice enter the kitchen to clean up crumbs.
And, an air and energy leak, to show the environment who’s boss.
Is that what your question was?
I might be mistaken but, when I see a setup like that, I think dedicated circuit.
A dedicated electrical circuit is one that serves a single appliance or electrical fixture. It’s required by the National Electrical Code for certain critical-use appliances and many fixed appliances.
I wouldn’t assume the area where the picture is taken is an unconditioned space.
Remember this!
