Light dim when appliances come on

I have an 85 year old house with most of the original wiring replaced. there is a 200 amp Murry box that is mostly full. Whenever appliances window AC, Washer etc come on the lights dim to the point that the UPS on my computer takes over for a second.

Anyone know the likely choke points that would cause this. For instance bad main breaker, bad connection on the SE cables, bad meter?

I looked at the connection to the main breaker and the Al wires had the antioxidant and seemed tight.

I kind of want to know a bit before I call an electrician or the Power Co

Thanks for any help you can give.

The first place I would check would be the neutral connections at the service. If this don?t cure the problem then call the power company and have them check their service drop and transformer.

What you are describing is a open neutral.

The Power Co found a section of the neutral chewed by squirrels.
