How many Inspectors here have their business listed as an LLC ? I’m trying to figure out if that is a route I should take. I’ve heard good things about it, of course naturally bad things as well.

Peoples thoughts....??

Igor summed it up perfectly! Talk to both your accountant and your lawyer. I am an LLC and I was told that I would incorporate by my lawyer, not asked. But my lawyer is a high school buddy and he insisted I incorporate when I decided to go into Home Inspection.

I can't speak for your state laws of course but in Alabama once I became an LLC as long as I don't do anything stupid I can not be sued. My Corp can but it has just a couple of thousand in assets so in lawyers words I am basically law suit proof. Most lawyers would waste their time suing because they wouldn't get make anything. Of course the moment you buy insurance you have something to sue for.

Joseph I don't doubt your word but have never heard of that. That would be a good one to run past a lawyer. Sounds like you went through that though.
