logo

Not sure if I should really do this, but I really need some expert input and advice, having my logo designed, I’m not knocking levi’s work in no way, but I don’t see nothing unique on the design yet, probably because i stated to him i wanted logo to look like my old 1

Attached is the red lettering logo so far created by levi, looks very nice

I was messing with adobe illustrator came up with the attached logo, before asking i did read the article from internachi about logo designs

Question is would the logo I created in adobe and use levi’s lettering but in blue lettering make my logo look unique. This is a very hard decision to make cause I wanna do it right the 1st time so I can proceed with cards and brochures…

Any advice would be so helpful

If I were you I would tell Levi to scratch it and give him free reign to come up with something brand new.

Trust the pros.

If you are not happy they will work with you endlessly to get it right. Levi did mine and we went back and forth and completely wiped out the design at one point.

Agree

The red one on the left is really professional. The blue one in the middle is horrific, one of the worst I’ve seen (made of separate, unrelated pieces). The red one on the right is not bad (the words “Home Inspections” are disconnected though).

Use one of the red ones.

Hi Jim, if you aren’t happy with the first logo Levi designed just give him specific feedback on what you would like to see in a new logo and he’ll create it for you.

There’s a reason InterNACHI has a Marketing Department—our designers are highly skilled at what they do and can take your marketing to the next level. Too many inspectors are handing out marketing materials with logos they clearly designed themselves rather than investing in their branding. And InterNACHI is paying Levi to do this for you so take advantage of it!

If you’re going to put a house and a magnifying glass in your logo, you’re better off just not having one. Choosing a rooftop and a magnifying glass is effectively choosing to an empty white square (although a white square for a logo may be more memorable).

No offense but of course your going to say Levis is a pro this is what he does, I’ve never design a logo before so I don’t think it looks as horrific as you state, I just throw together a sample nothing special geez

I would just like to have more options to choose from, I understand he’s busy working on other orders
Would his logo look bad using a darker blue in color in lettering and maybe keep the magnified glass in the lower lettering
Would be nice to see that as a example

Jim—it’s completely fine to give feedback and suggest ideas. You can work with Levi to address your concerns with the current logo. I would highly suggest avoiding magnifying glasses and rooftops, though. A logo should be unique and help set you apart from your competition. The best logos have a point of view that is memorable.

It is your logo and your feedback will be inputted. You have to understand the house and /or magnifying glass thing is so completely and over done in real estate that at this point it doesnt even register as memorable with people.

I typed “home inspector” into google images 13 results on the first page are either a house, a magnifying glass, or both.

Give the team free reign and then tweak to your liking

Ditch the house and magnifying glass. Levi is the pro. Let him do his thing with your input.

Levi did my logo recently and had everything I was looking for, trust Levi he is amazing at what he does!

Even though I designed an AWESOME logo, I’m going to have Levi work his magic soon. I believe that I have to order either brochures or business cards first, before they can design a new logo for me. I just spent a lot of money on a website from the best in the business and next is insurance. After that I may order brochures.

To the original poster: these guys are doing nothing but trying to help you out, because they want to see you successful. Nick Gromicko is a marketing genius. I was in your shoes once and so I’m going to give you some advice that I hope you take: This forum is where you will learn and eventually teach, you will need the help of others on here. Please re-read any comments that you make before you post. Any advice that you may not agree with is constructive criticism. If the majority of the people agree that 1 answer is the best, then it probably is. These folks are my family and my friends and if you watch what you say and how you say it, then they will be yours. You seem to be a smart young man and you’ve joined the very best association out there.

Look at it like this … Levi is a professional and it’s his expertise that’s going to make you memorable. You’re building a brand. Twenty years ago, the house and the magnifying glass worked; until so many inspectors used the same idea. Listen to Chris, Nick and the other’s they will not steer you in the wrong direction but they will point you in the right direction.

I wish you well and success in being a home inspector. Just remember … there is a lot of competition in your area and you need to bring something different to the table.

Let me leave you with this: 'Safety first, Safety always".

I love this industry even with all of the hurdles that I’ve had to pass to get to where I am today.
