Market to agents

Does it reflect badly on the inspector for calling around to real estate agents and passing along contact info and service information. I feel as if this is common sense but I just wanna make sure that its good marketing tactics. Thanks everyone in advance, I truly appreciate everyones input.

For me, agents are a significant source of referrals

They were for me also. Although it was by reputation as I never met the majority of agents that referred me.

The reason why I ask is because I have slowed down on going to real estate agencies. Recently I have just started calling local real estate agents, talking for a few and then exchanging information. Does this seem like an okay thing to do?

Being an okay thing to do is as unique as each individual. If you are able “to read the room”, you should be fine doing that.

I see exactly what you mean, thank you.

And how is that going? Are you treated like a spam call or are you received warmly?

So far it appears to be a time saver for the agents and myself. On the down side its not as much human interaction, which I believe is really important. I have yet to be rejected and every agent has given me their information voluntarily. No work from it yet but I have only been testing it since monday of this week.

Join your local real estate board as an affiliate member. Then sign up to attend the affiliate expo that most put on each year. You will meet many agents doing that. I go to mine every year. It cost me $150.00 to attend the event and I bring probably $1000.00 worth of giveaways. I give custom tape measures and custom cutting board cards with all my info on it. There is usually about 300-350 agents who attend.

Another good way to get yourself in front of REAs is to print brochures and business cards and deliver them to each office, and many times I was allowed to go back into the office area where I’d put a brochure, business card, and a resume of sorts on all their desks, which was a nice way to introduce myself to them. It seemed to work well for me.

Another option is to go to the office manager and ask if you can give a presentation at one of their up coming meeting, usually on Tuesday, take all your information to pass out, take a tray of cold cuts or fruit, and or donuts, and ask them for a chance to work for their clients.
