Currently Seth Kist is the Arizona Chapter President of the National Association of Certified Home Inspectors Inc.

We have no Seth Kist as a member here.

Anyway, I’m supposed to have a plan of distribution to discuss with Michael next Monday the 19th when we are playing together in a charity golf tournament. Of course I’m going to propose that we ship them direct to NACHI members who can deliver them to participating real estate offices and then keep them full of literature and let us know when they need more.

RE: Key word searches…

The search for “CITY, HOME INSPECTOR/INSPECTION” is the
most common. And, yes there are a lot of people from
our own industry creating traffic with those key words.

BUT…

After the local inspectors get through looking at all the
same stuff, they soon stop clicking on your link and
you start getting a larger percentage of CLIENTS who
are looking for an inspector.

If I was to set up my web page to get hits based on
the word CERTIFIED HOME INSPECTOR as my primary key
words, I would starve. This sub-set of key words is very
limited.

I understand that if NACHI was to take the broader
approach to key words, then the price per click idea
would go up very high in expense, and would have less
return per clicks… but would yield more results in
the end.

So it basically is a question of the pain vs the benefits.
The results would increase but at a higher price.

I can understand your point Nick.

If I was trying to finance the pay per click for ten thousand
members, I might choose the more narrow target also.

And then there is also the BBB membership…

“Looking for home inspectors” includes NACHI members who count as hits as they screen the index looking for competitor listings of folks they know to be no longer members or no longer in the business. Many are members who just want to see whose name pops up first. Not all hits coming from folks “looking for home inspectors” represent hits coming from folks “looking to hire home inspectors”.

I remember when NACHI had a “pay per click” ad with Google…at least, I think we did…

And if I recall correctly, many of our jealous competitors (Morrison, Fabry, et al) were calling upon all other NACHI-haters to continuously click on the ad in an attempt to run up the bill.

Am I remembering this correctly? Seems that my brain cells are dying off more rapidly these days…1968 was a very fun year that I am paying for, dearly, today.

I understand that, but we should be focusing on the consumer not other inspectors wondering who is on first.

Other inspection companies don’t make me money, or you.

Yes, I can how that would happen. Just look at how much
energy is spent on this BB with people who have nothing
more in life to do than to attack NACHI.

I can see how Nick would want to avoid this.
