We are thrilled about NACHI breaking the top 20,000 websites on the internet mark as no other home inspection association has ever even reached the top 100,000 mark.

It’s not like Ed to praise NACHI. They say that separation makes the heart grow fonder.
Anyway, it looks like it was not just a "weekend fluke", Nick. Maintaining a ranking that high over 100,000 when no other association has come close to that mark shows more than just good marketing. It shows a good product. Way to go. It's helping my web traffic. I booked two off the the findaninspector site this week, already.

Here is the most amazing thing… I’m not even going to compare our site to other associations. That would be like having the Patriots play against a high school team.
Instead... I'll have our high school team play against their Pro team.
Here goes...
Today, according to Alexa.com, our 1-page consumer lead generator www.FindanInspector.us is ranked at 387,543. NAHI's (not NACHI's) entire site is ranked at a pathetic 659,161.
This means that www.FindanInspector.us gets more consumer traffic (the good kind) than ALL of NAHI's entire site! In fact NAHI would have to pass up some 271,618 sites just to get as much traffic total as one of our lead generators gets in consumer traffic!

I, too, am booking an inspection or two a week off of FAI. However, my town of Harrisonburg, VA does not come up at all in any search engines for FAI. That didn’t come out quite right. I do a search for “harrisonburg, va home inspectors.” Almost every other town in Virginia shows FAI at the number one spot with the following url format:
So I have started submitting this URL to google and msn every day for a week, now, and will continue to do so until it starts being crawled. It's a good thing my site is on the first page on Yahoo and MSN, or I wouldn't be getting any local internet business. I am not complaining, just want to let people know that some of the FAI pages have never been crawled by the search engines, so you might want to take some action if this happened with your service area.

Luckily for NACHI members the number one search phrase used by consumers (not necessarily traffic in general) to find a home inspector is "certified home inspectors" (plural).
The number two phrase used by consumers is "certified home inspector" (singular).
The number three phrase used by consumers is "certified home inspectors" followed by thecitythey are looking to buy a home in.
Consumers are obsessed by the word "certified." And consumer traffic is the important type of traffic... the only type of traffic a home inspector should seek.
Why do you think Alexa.com confirms our consumer sites like www.FindanInspector.us get more consumer traffic than other association's ENTIRE websites? Think about it.

And despite you being in another country and not even being a member of NACHI... NACHI came up first on the natural search results page, second on the natural search results page, and www.FindanInspector.us and www.InspectorSEEK.com both came up #1 and #8 in the sponsored links section on the right of the search result page.

Their full members are no better. Full ASHI member have to pass the bogus NHIE... an exam that is widely criticized for containing questions far outside ASHI's own SOP. Answers to NHIE's pool are sold on eBay for $15. The pass rate of NHIE according to EBPHI is higher than NACHI's entrance exam... this despite our exam being open book! Being able to buy NHIE's pool of questions and pass (proctored or not) is NO indication of competency. A recent KDKA TV reporter just did a story on the NHIE. In the report he showed a full ASHI member who passed the NHIE as totally incompetent. Heck, even TV Reporters figured it out. Read about the TV Report that uncovered the ASHI inspector that passed the NHIE:

Speaking about Education… Gerry Beaumont just emailed me a link to his next online roofing course he built for NACHI. Totally great! Diagrams, color photos of actual defects, quizzes… super!

? And are they going to continue the policy of encouraging these no-qualifications-whatsoever Candidates to go out and do 250 UNsupervized inspections for poor unsuspecting clients?
The Federal Government or some government agency should step in and stop ASHI.
ASHI's standing policies are hurting our industry, keeping our pricing low, and harming consumers.

Supervised by whom? You are not going to publicly suggest that guys like the full ASHI member who passed the NHIE in the KDKA TV story… the one that writes “nice home” on every report…supervise anyone… are you?
