Does anyone ever do these and if so how much is reasonable to charge for it?

Thanks

Talk to Jeff Pope. I know he uses some strange bar shaped object to test microwave ovens. Not sure he charges for it though

Standard part of the inspection. No extra charge. . .

I do them also as a regular part of the inspection. Mostly I’m testing built-ins. If its not a built-in I will ask the buyer, or realtor if present if it’s staying- usually it’s not, so they don’t care.

Part of the inspections. They are cheap to buy. Any home inspection equipment website carries them.

Professional Equipment has a “Magic Lights” - a plastic bar that

I got mine here I think: http://www.professionalequipment.com/xq/ASP/qx/default.htm?keyword=microwave+tester I think it’s the MD 2000. It’s only problem is that if you carry it in your bag, you have to find a way to keep from mashing the button when you push it into the pocket in the bag. (The button is on the front) Or the battery is always dead. And it’s too much trouble to stop and take the battery in and out for every job. It’s got a small screw on the cover on the back.

The instructions that came with my magic bar said I must still use a cup of water…bummer
