I love to watch people criticize what he did to Twitter. This is because they are ignorant. Musk bought Twitter for an entirely different reason than people think. Free speech and the Twitter files were just a byproduct. Banking is the goal. For good reason, PayPal was a very successful venture for him.
Elon Musk is doing nothing more than what Zuckerberg plans to do in the future. And avoid Zuckerberg’s regrets allowing the Biden administration to influence his decision-making process.
This letter is astonishing. But hate for Trump does not allow Americans to clearly asses the internal threat our Republic is facing.
Believe me no one wants this prick’s world view becoming a reality… I would not be surprised to discover that he’s one mistake away from being arrested.
Which view is that? Free speech? Or the freedom to protect oneself from the violence the left perpetuates with bad border policy, bad police policy, bad education discipline policy, bad subsidy policy, bad drug policy, etc.
This notion that society is at fault for the poor behavior of individuals has no credibility when someone is breaking into your home to rape your wife and children. Or when the government attempts to force its will upon a free society.
There are dozens of “free speech” pieces reposted from X on this forum daily, mostly by one person. This type of “free speech” wouldn’t be so bad if readers understood almost all of it is misinformation at best, and just plain made up at worst. But far, far too many gullible people just eat it up as fact. One can make a case for it being dangerous to our country. I have never had a Twitter account, and seeing what X has become, I’m pretty sure I’ll never have an X account either.
Nick allows it. It’s his decision, not mine. And if X, Twitter, or Facebook want to allow it, then it is their choice as well. If they want to allow it with a fact check, that would be their decision too.
There are many things dangerous to our culture, our country, and even our mental health. None of it rises to the threat of monitoring and moderating our speech.
Gullible people also think that abortion is birth control, twerking is courting, and a woman should not have the right to vote or drive. Let’s keep it in the public discourse so we have meaningful debate on the merits.
The owner of any forum can decide what is allowed. Maybe Twitter was too controlling, I don’t know. I was never on there. But based on what gets reposted from X to this forum, Musk has turned Twitter into a shit hole of misinformation and lies. It seems like advertisers agree.
Except I did hear Musk’s Mom got censored on X for posting that it was legal to cast 10 votes under fictitious names, so maybe there is hope for X yet!
I used to live in Asheville, NC. The media wants us to think this election is like a knife-fight in a phone booth. I think that after how the situation was handled so poorly, the voters in the key swing state of NC are going to rebuke their votes just like in PA when Pete B. had many chances to help his own of Palestine Ohio during the chlorine train derailments and failed in that swing state too. He decided it best to blow up the trains and send chlorine gases into the rivers, etc. In any event, Starlink is a blessing for many southerners atm & Musk is running alongside Trump so there is that… Also, private enterprise actually saving astronauts aboard ISS is astounding.
