No thank you. I don't believe there is any way that could be construed as ethical. Even with disclosure to the client, "oh, by the way I'm getting paid to recommend that you look into a security system", I don't think that I'd have any credibility with my client after that.
After all, if the security sale is ok, then wouldn't a deal with a roofer, HVAC guy, plumber, Painter, floor guy, Landscape contractor, foundation contractor, Etc be ok too?

I know of one inspector in the DFW, who tells Brinks he will have the client ask for the referral fee and to go ahead and pay it directly to them. He also tells the client about the referral fee and has them (client) ask for it.
I don't know if Brinks pays the referral fee for any referral or only those that result in a securtiy system installation and/or monitoring.
