NACHI Web site falls - ASHI seems to be on top

Hey, I saw today (2/11) that the ASHI web site at www.ashi.org was back in the number slot for most of the important key words on Google.

This has moved the NACHI and NAHI sites down... in some cases way down.

I thought NACHI was supposed to have the best Web site out there - but now it will be ASHI inspectors getting all the business in my town becuse they are on top. Looks like ASHI's got us beat again.

Wrong.

The most common phrase used by consumers when looking for home inspectors is "certified home inspector"

Read and weep: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=certified+home+inspector

Also Amazon.com's www.alexa.com list NACHI.org as the most popular home inspection site ever. Type in any website you want at www.alexa.com to see for yourself: http://www.alexa.com/data/details/?url=www.nachi.org

NACHI.org not only gets the most important type of traffic (consumer traffic) it also gets the most traffic period. No matter how you slice it up, NACHI is and always will be #1.

In fact, we now have the best world wide ranking of any inspection site ever, breaking all our previous records. Thanks for alerting me to this good news... I will be putting out a press release on it this weekend.

When you have a web site you can go to your site statistics and find out what words are used in the search engines to find you. Also you can see what sites are used to access your site. (linked from).

Thank you, Mr. Campbell

I think that only tells you what words were used to find "your" website.

Does that tell us the most common words to find all HI's?

Of course NACHI will be found if you use the word "certified", but what if you use just plain old "Home Inspectors"?

What I was referring to Todd, was that I’m sure that Chris can access the site statistics for the NACHI web site.

It’s actually even better than my post describes when you think about it…

NACHI owns over 4500 websites. All but a few of these are consumer lead generators that get only traffic from consumers (the type and quality of traffic most important to home inspectors).

So we get the best type of traffic as well as the most.

Furthermore, and this is a big furthermore...

Even though www.alexa.com shows there are hundreds of thousands of websites in our rear view mirror (so to speak) before any other inspection related website appears... NACHI.org is not the only car we have in the race (although it is leading the pack by far).

We have thousands of other cars in the race. When you add up all the traffic from www.nachi.org www.FindanInspector.US www.InspectorSEEK.com and all the other sites we own, the total amount of traffic (nearly all consumer traffic, the good kind) gives us as much total traffic as the traffic received by some of the most popular sites in the world. Our total traffic from all sites (when added all up) gives us a worldwide ranking in the top 3,000 sites on the internet! I know of no other inspection association that is even in the top 100,000.

Will?

I can access my site stats as well, but they only tell me how people found my site. They don't tell me how people found my competitors site.

I must be missing the obvious here.

If anyone does key-in "Certified Home Inspector," NACHI's well-positioned in most of the major search engines...

The most telling of all web stats for us should be “unique visitors”. When I pull up my web site stats that’s the first thing I look at. Hits to a web site mean nothing.

NACHI being second or first on the "major" search engines is nothing to be ashamed of.

I still have not figured out how to find out what word it is that ?most people? use to find a HI.

I would assume that if a person is looking for a HI, it would be something like>>>" Dallas Texas Home Inspector? or "Home inspectors in Dallas Texas".

Heck, if you just type in Home Inspector(s) What?s the point?

If you type in Certified Home Inspector(s) then of course you get NACHI.

I guess, I will take Blaine?s advice and do some research.

Thanks
