Need some Guidance

Hello All,

I am looking into starting a career as a home inspector, but I cannot seem to find any legitimate training that I can trust by peoples reviews on the internet. I worked in new construction for years and left to work in an office, but miss being around homes. I live in Pennsylvania and was hoping someone here could offer me guidance on what I need to do to get started. I appreciate any help that anyone could offer me. Thank you all and this is by far the best site out there.

John, thanks for the reply. Are there any educational materials you can suggest?

Welcome Doug,

Where are you located in PA? Check with some of the local Community Colleges.

I’m in Chester County.

I looked there first, but nothing is offered.

Is there a web-site or book that would tell me the steps.

Specifically how to be legal and certified by PA?

Doug;

I just finished the Inspector training course with ITA (Inspector Training Association) Extreamly qualified teachers and more info than I thought possible. They are well recognised in the industry and have been helpfull in every aspect of getting started. www.home-inspect.com
They have classes all around the country and I think an online class.
With your background, you might be able to do their fast track course.
Good luck. Chris
