New Construction - Dirty insulation

I inspected the attic for a New Construction inspection today and around half of the insulation appeared dirty, such as from air movement. The other half-ish was bright, clean pink-colored (as expected). While summarizing my findings, my client/buyer had taken similar pictures of the dirty insulation when doing a pre-drywall walk-through with the builder and shared them with me. He was concerned about it (and they wouldn’t let him perform a pre-drywall inspection).

Is there a new dirty looking insulation being installed in new homes that I’m not aware of? I’m not sure how to write a narrative for this one other than what I observed. Such as: I observed what appeared to be insulation affected by excessive air movement and appeared dirty.

Just different brands of insulation in my opinion. Some of it may be a bit dirty, but not a big deal.

I don’t know why insulation companies have dirty looking insulation, it is confusing to customers, they always question it thinking it is moldy.

Thanks guys, this is great! Anything I can do to calm the nerves of a first time home buyer goes a long way :+1:

I also won’t have to ask this question again
