New post on RealMatcher: Radiant Barriers, Reflective Insulation and Electrical Safet

Radiant barriers and reflective insulation installed with the intent of reducing the amount of heat in the attic are products that contain a certain amount of aluminum and, according to RIMA (Reflective Insulation Manufacturers Association International), can potentially have electrical conductivity. Even for products that are less electrically conductive such as metalized films, there is still a risk when working with or around faulty or compromised wires that can be commonly found in the attic.
