Is ABITC only licensed as a trade school through the NYS Dept of Education (as all private trade schools are licensed)?

Is it approved by the New York State Dept of State (NYSDOS) for the required 140 hours of training to obtain a NY HI license starting 12/31/05?

My understanding is the NYSDOS has NOT approved ANY schools for the license training. In fact I am not aware that the NYSDOS has even published the final guidelines for approval of HI training.

Hi! Rob;

The problem here is that certain people dwell on only what they want to hear or read, you no it Rob as a teacher your students do it all the time,wright??? #1 You are correct, there are NO SCHOOLS in NEW YORK STATE approved to teach home inspection courses for licensing period.

#2 When the state gets everything ready THEN and ONLY THEN will they approve the schools that they think can do the job.

#3 There are no applications for schools and inspectors at the present time, If someone want’s to spend there money on schooling which may not be accepted in the future, so be it. Time will tell.

which is responsible for approval of training that qualifies for licensing under the new law (NYS Consolidated Laws, Real Property, Article 12B, Section 444-e).

The License number given on the website is indeed a NYS Dept of Education number (NYS DOE Private School License # 2257), which appears to simply mean they are permitted to operate as a private or proprietary school in NY State.

Perhaps the NACHI member referenced can clarify that for the NY members.

And then there was silence. icon_lol.gif Very misleading website http://www.abitcoinc.com

I truly feel that NACHI's attorney should look into this school, as this could bring financial hardship on our members. We as the MAB might even discuss a press release to make them change their website or be forced out of NACHI. What say you?

Just my research via the net. I even offer 3 different courses in Home Inspection, each one NYS, DOS approved, but for continuing education.

More to follow......
