Hmmmm. Looks like the office will be crowded with NACHI to review the NY DOS Exam.

I have the same appointment.

I'm taking along my laptop where I have access to the NACHI bank of 2,500 questions and a sample NHIE exam installed. Should be fun.

If anyone wants a copy of the sample NHIE exam feel free to send me a check for Ten Bucks. The NACHI Foundation will appreciate it. You will be paying for my labor, material and shipping costs only on this freely distributed CD.

I need to make a correction to this statement. I do not have a copyrighted NHIE exam or material. The CD that I have is called a "Practice Exam" which gives you samples of exams that may or may not appear on national exams.

My apology to the Examination Board of Professional Home Inspectors and NACHI members who assumed by my incorrect grammar that it was the actual copywrited material of EBPHI. It is not in any way shape or form associated or connected with ASHI, EBPHI or whoever they are.

In a letter sent to me it has been demanded that I inform them of

(1) an accounting of all sales made of the NHIE examination and any other NHIE materials, and the number of copies used by NACHI.

My answer, absolutely none, zero, nada. NACHI had nothing to do with this.

(2) An accounting of the number of copies sold or otherwise tansferred to other parties, gross receipts, margins and net profit.

My answer, absolutely none, zero, nada.

(3) the immediate destruction of all hard copies of the NHIE examination and deletion of all digital copies.

Don't have any to destroy. Never had them, and don't want them.

(4) immediate posting of the following message on the NACHI website:

"Copies of the sample NHIE exam will not be sold or otherwise distributed by NACHI. The NHIE exam is the property of the Examination Board of Professional home Inspectors ("EBPHI") and is subject to copyright protection. NACHI's copying of this exam constitutes copyright infringement. NACHI apologizes to EBPHI for copying and selling copies of its sample exam. NACHI ackknowledges that the NHIE exam is not public domann mateial. NACHI apologizes to EBPHI for this copyright infringement".

Well duh, that goes without saying, however as stated these questions are merely sample questions that may or may not show up on any qualifying exam. These were not ever, nor will they ever be, copywritten by EBPHI. Thanks for your concerns.

This message serves as your written agreement demands of answering you within (10) days, on or before December 8, 2005. Seeing as how you failed to tell me to whom or where my answers had to be sent, I assume that this is the proper place. After all you did copy off this copyright page.

One thing that needs to be in place before the application is sent in is your insurance papers need to state. The state of New York will be notified if there is a lapse. I heard yesterday, this is one of the things will

cause the application to be kicked out.

I am filling everything out correctly so I can be covered all at once. Two reasons: 1- Too busy to keep chasing paperwork. 2- the 250.00 is non refundable deposit. So if you miss it then you lose it. I don’t know about anyone else but that is a days work I just rather not give out for nothing.

I have been on the phone with the state since last September and getting my information from them. Don’t call the Senator who wrote the bill because they don’t know anymore than the rest of us.

Not trying to step on any toes just helping out with the information. The other thing that people are missing is the time lines for the Grandfathering. Read these close and before you apply for the licensing call and ask questions. That is my 2 cents on this matter.

The best thing I really like is no one is just grandfathered in and even if you are an engineer, architect, or code boy. If they are doing a Home Inspection Business as the rest of us. They also need to have to be licensed. For the engineer it is just showing the present License. But for the rest they have to meet all the Qualifications. I know this is another avenue but I am glad this is in the new licensing law. “AS Long As These Folks Operate In The Scope Of Thier JOBS” That is a good thing.
