I would be concerned using the manufacture date of flashing/a boot to estimate the roof covering’s age. What if the flashing/boot had been replaced years after the roof was installed? I’m not sure I would try to estimate anything to a client. I would only tell them what I know… 'Manufacture date of flashing/boot was “xxx”. I wouldn’t try to imply this conveyed to the age of the roof installation. My 2 cents…
