Today’s inspection was on a 2003 build. Original roof on the main house had been replaced. But the roof over the breezeway and garage are presumed to be original. They show extensive damage. No attic space in these areas so not related to attic ventilation. I am guessing I am looking at an organic mat/felt shingle. Anyone have any experience with this to share?
Sue it sure looks that way! Your last picture shows the swollen organic mat quite well, the fiberglass mat looks nothing like that
Agreed, What Simon sad. And If you take a deteriorated piece of organic roofing and crumple it up in your hand it should break up into small separated pieces, With the fiberglass, you will see remnants of the fiberglass mat.
What they said and it needs to be replaced.^^^^^^^^
thank you!
thanx for the feedback and confirmation, guys! i appreciate it.
