Outside combustion air

Quick question, can outside combustion air just dump into furnace room, or is tube suppose to go all the way to floor? It’s a 1995 Carrier mid-efficiency furnace. thanks, Mark T

Two tubes, intake and outflow. Within 12" of floor and ceiling.

Typically, 1/2 the rquired air supply is within 12" of the ceiling and 1/2 within 12" of the floor.

:cool:Thank you gentlemen, you answered my question.

Remove that supply duct register there or the make-up air system will never work.

They all leak, even when closed.
