Fellow Inspectors,

Peerles oil burning hot water furnace. Model J03PE-H-WPC,

Serial # J0 74218

My guess at least 25 years old.

Thanks,

hi Anatol,

I just checked Preston's guide for you and can't find it they list all peerless back to 1965 and it is not in there, so either you transcribed the number wrong or more likely it is over 40 years old.

By the way if it heats water it's a boiler, if it heats air it's a furnace ![icon_wink.gif](upload://ssT9V5t45yjlgXqiFRXL04eXtqw.gif)

Thanks Gerry,

The numbers are correct, unless the 0 is an o.

I knew that boiler thing, just have to slow my fingers. Now all I have to do is figure out how to use emoticons.javascript:emoticon(’icon_lol.gif’)

yep…that’s why prestons doesn’t have it listed, because it’s a boiler.

hi to all,

Now that's too funny, I answered it myself without realizing that it was a boiler that Preston's don't cover. ![icon_redface.gif](upload://f7DX2EWhmUfsDapWaYT3oJHMCj1.gif)

It’s a 3 section cast iron boiler, around 25 years old, max. BTU of 145K.

The "j o’’ and “j o t” series boiler are the same, the “t” stands for a tankless coil. And was most likely a packaged boiler §. Series ran till about mid 90’s when it was changed to EC/ECT when Peerless and Dunkirk Boilers merged.

Preston Guides starts with 1996.

Technically it is only a Boiler if it Boils water (Steam).

If there is a circulator pump, it is not a boiler. It is a water heater.
