Saw this today. The 2 pergola beams are attached to the house using (2) 2x6’s screwed together and then bolted to the patio beam. The pergola beams are then nailed to the 2x6 block. The patio beam the ‘blocks’ are bolted to have been boxed in with siding so I have no idea what it is actually bolted to. I don’t like it, will be referring it to a licensed framing contractor but would like others’ opinions.

Should have had a steal mounting bracket fabricated? Painting it black would add a little detail.
