I just got done working for a client on a new construction inspection. The gentleman claims that the PEX service pipe was connected near the meter using a hose clamp and he is very concerned about that. I am not aware of this being any sort of issue. This was 1 1/4 PEX line. Of course it was long since in the soil at the time of the inspection.
Is there a potential concern there? I’m looking into it as well.
I would tell him that it’s common to make connections using cinch clamps and crimp rings, but that I cannot comment on a specific connection that I can’t observe directly.
