Piping ID

When I am inspecting a house I suspect has PB pipe that I can not see anywhere, I go to the laundry room and pull the beauty ring off the water supply to the washer. Then I look into the wall to ID the pipes.

Brian,

That's a real good tip!!! Don't know how many times I've cleaned my beauty ring (they do get gunky) and never thought to pull it off. Good idea and by the way, I just pulled mine off for grins and cleaned behind it. ![icon_lol.gif](upload://zEgbBCXRskkCTwEux7Bi20ZySza.gif) ![icon_lol.gif](upload://zEgbBCXRskkCTwEux7Bi20ZySza.gif)

Just out of curiosity though, why did you suspect PB in the house?

Emmanuel, many neighborhoods in the Phoenix Metro area were piped with PB pipe between 1978 & 1995. If inspecting a house this age I would be suspicious. Also I have done this in newer homes looking for PEX.
