Question on these questions…

When a QOD does not have the correct answer posted by the orig. poster, do we assume the answer with the most responses is the correct one ? It seems to be that way but just wondering why many of the QOD's never have the answer posted.

I would suggest that you e-mail the person that posted the questions you are referring too.

All open vent pipes which extend through a roof shall be terminated at least inches above the roof or inches above the anticipated snow accumulation, except that where a roof is to be used for any purpose other than weather protection, the vent extension shall be run at least 7 feet (2134 mm ) above the roof.

Correct answer is C

Good question Scott, I was wondering the same thing when I was writing the code from the book. I haven’t thought of a good answer yet.

Hi to all,

this article is aimed at those vents which extend through a flat roof that is used as a roof deck, or any similar set up where the top of the vent would be required to be above head height.

Code Check actually illustrates the roof as a deck and its minimum vent height.

Gerry,

So basically what you are saying is the deck I put up on my flat roof, I shouldn't be using the vent pipe as an ashtray??

In that case of using a vent pipe for an ash tray I would feel compelled to say that smoking can kill. icon_lol.gif icon_lol.gif
