Hey Blaine
I will send you an 8 x 10 glossy so you can hang it on your walls. See quite a few. Your old house in O.P. most likely had one, maybe a little lead too! ![icon_lol.gif](upload://zEgbBCXRskkCTwEux7Bi20ZySza.gif)

Hi to all,
I thought that some of you guys would never have seen one in the flesh. I see them quite often but this is a rare picture of one where a good picture could be taken, they are increasingly rare creatures and very shy so this is a rare shot ![icon_lol.gif](upload://zEgbBCXRskkCTwEux7Bi20ZySza.gif) ![icon_lol.gif](upload://zEgbBCXRskkCTwEux7Bi20ZySza.gif) ![icon_lol.gif](upload://zEgbBCXRskkCTwEux7Bi20ZySza.gif)

we still see a fair amount of these in the northeast, I personaly just let clients know that they are no longer allowed in new construction, and that they do require some maintenance.

Define requiring replacement by whose standards?
Drum traps are grouped in with other "illegal traps" such as S-traps, bell traps, and crown vented traps. Drum traps are not self-scouring meaning that they tend to accumulate solids. I would recommend that the trap be replaced or at the least be closely monitored for sewer odors and clogging. We do not have many of those traps living down here, in fact I have never seen one in person.
