Question about equipotential bonding & grounding

Nice down to “earth” explanation Mr. Pope! Excuse the bad pun.:wink:

It’s a bit over simplified (with respect to static electricity and current electricity), but it should make “bonding” a bit easier to understand.

I had an inground pool installed in 2000

The pool guy would not hook the pump up, or the underwater thru the wall light, until I provided GFCI protection to the 240V motor, and to the light.

That said, I would have utilized GFCI regardless.

Yep! And he had it stocked with catfish.
