Questions of the week 11/26/17

Damn good thing we’re not a baseball team.
Paul, those were awesome questions (even though one was a screwball - it was a pitch by the rules of the game).

We all took our swings and we missed! You get a no-hitter and we get bupkis!

Thanks for all you do!

Thanks Steve.

Roy, instead of me proving I’m right I prefer you prove I’m wrong as I need some time to work on new questions.

New questions Sunday.

Just messin’ with you Brother…
" In 2016, about 4.08 trillion kilowatthours (kWh) of electricity were generated at utility-scale facilities in the United States. About 65% of this electricity generation was from fossil fuels (coal, natural gas, petroleum, and other gases), about 20% was from nuclear energy, and about 15% was from renewable energy sources. The U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) estimates that an additional 19 billion kWh (or about 0.02 trillion kWh) of electricity generation was from small-scale solar photovoltaic systems in 2016.

Major energy sources and percent shares of U.S. electricity generation at utility-scale facilities in 20161

Natural gas = 33.8%
Coal = 30.4%
Nuclear = 19.7%
Renewables (total) = 14.9%
Hydropower = 6.5%
Wind = 5.6%
Biomass = 1.5%
Solar = 0.9%
Geothermal = 0.4%
Petroleum = 0.6%
Other gases = 0.3%
Other nonrenewable sources = 0.3%
Pumped storage hydroelectricity = -0.2%4 "

What is U.S. electricity generation by energy source? - FAQ - U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA)

I propose we all give Roy a book - the only catch is he’s gotta come by and pick it up!

I already have 3 full cases ! I need no more…
I just like snachin’ Paul’s chain.:smiley:

How long is Roy’s chain?

a) 4 inches
b) I do not know or care
6) no matter I do NOT comprehend the written word
d) I dunno chain snatching is sexual assault

The correct answer may get an Inspectorsaurus T-Shirt :stuck_out_tongue:

Well! Let me think about it for a while…
All the above…:smiley:

on a publicly viewed forum… :frowning:

Well, the beat goes on…

I’m working on tomorrows questions and hope to make them challenging as well as fun. The awards committee has been discussing ways to make the QOTW a popular stopping place for Internachi members.

Here’s what I would like to see.
Any and all suggestions to improve QOTW sent to me as a PM so the committee mebers could discuss trying out new things. Any ideas used would be publicly credited to the inspector who came up with the suggestion and the rest of us would benefit from the fun and challenge of participating. I say PM because otherwise it becomes too much to sift through.

How about you Mr Redneck Lewis? Got anything rattling around in that space between your ears?

Besides grits?

Paul, puh-lease! I thought you were looking to make i-m-p-r-o-v-e-m-e-n-t-s??? He can’t even advise his work crew the proper way to mount gutter downspouts!! :shock:

You’re a good man, Roy. Thank you!

Thank You Roy. :slight_smile:
