How long before a new one needs calibrating?
Not much of a deal for an old, used machine from a non-member!
I would pay the few dollars more for a NEW unit. (Overall cheaper after recalibration in 4 months!).

I bought 3 for 1100 about 6 months ago that were out of calibration.

To start with I was a member until I decided to stop doing inspections. Number two when I bought it it was a $1,200 machine and I didnt think look it up before I put it on here if you don’t want to buy it don’t buy it keep it to yourself oe make me an offer like a normal person.
2nd…its an 18 month old machine becuase it was replaced uner warranty so I think your definition of old might be a little heavy-handed

Hi Larry, I am sure that you were asking for a “friend” or wanting the OP to explain/define the calibration timelines. Anyone interested in this device “should” know that calibration is require annually per NRPP standards. I am not sure about NRSB or other entities, but likely similar requirements. Jeffery, obro = or best reasonable offer. I agree with you, I would also pay $699 for a new unit with an additional ~8 month before one in need of calibration in 4 months. I made an offer it is up to him to determined if it is reasonable.

As it turns out, I was interested in the equipment for sale. But, the last time I reviewed radon much was at the NACHI convention in Orlando in 2005 and shortly thereafter in my area to assess the viability of offering that as an ancillary service…which was little or nil, so, I never offered it.
And, I couldn’t tell my mentee, in another state, the information that I sought here from the OP. My mentee is assessing radon as a service in his area now.
Hopefully the OP will consider your offer reasonable.
