I just hired a contractor to build a deck for my pool. If I went with composite decking (which I’m not) the stainless steel fasteners would add an extra $500 to the cost. :shock:

Must be a big deck Linus, 2-1/4" stainless square drive are $130 per 1000

GRK fasteners are about $8.75 per lb.

These hear are in the $5.00+ range and good for PT.

It’s 500 s.f. We got quotes from $6k-$12k. The boss wants cedar. I like the look of cedar. She’s paying for the work and I have been hired to be the Assistant General Superintendent.:p:p:p

Wow, that is a good size deck and price Linus.
You might want to consider useing concealed fasteners like down the line of these;

Don’t know the price, but can’t be anymore than stainless screws.

We had a 2nd storey 840 sq. ft. plus cedar deck. To keep the look of cedar takes maintenance…galore…enjoy! :stuck_out_tongue:

Linus you might want to go with treated wood, try this. It’s good stuff, the cedar tone looks great.
