RECALL: “park outside” recalls for more than 3.3 million vehicles due to the risk of fire

Continuing the scope expansion of this recall category:

September 27, 2023 | Washington, DC

Hyundai Motor America and Kia America have issued “park outside” recalls for more than 3.3 million vehicles due to the risk of fire.

Until these recalled vehicles have been repaired, the manufacturers say the safest place to park them is outside and away from homes and other structures. Fires can occur whether the vehicle is parked and turned off or while driving.

Of course in my area if you do park your Kia outside, it’s likely to be stolen under the “Kia Challenge” and used for another crime within minutes…

In your own words.

"Automotive recalls have zero relevance to home inspections, and minima relevance to commercial property inspection. Unless you’re planning to start checking VINs.

The image is floating around social media not to inform: rather to influence."

I thought people parked their Kia’s outside hoping they will be stolen.

More Kia recalls:

Which to me just says for home inspectors: keep checking those fire separation issues in garages. And at home if you park a vehicle indoors, keep those separation doors closed.

You have a hard on for Kia cars!
