Never a more fun concert than Jimmy Buffet Parrot head concerts, been to many of them. Got to watch one from the Crow’s Nest while working the concert. Incredible view of thousands of people enjoying life and having fun, not to mention a great show. I have Coral Reefer Band guitar picks, drum stick and other unique memorabilia in storage picked up while cleaning up after the show.
RIP… Last time I saw him he was still incredibly active and in good health (opened for the Eagles in Miami April 2018). The first thing that comes to mind when anyone dies now days is “wonder if the jab got them”?

Buffet died from skin cancer which is ironic given his Key West beach bum persona.

Years ago I worked at a floating restaurant in downtown Portland, OR that had a dock attached… Buffet landed his floating plane on the river and tied up to the dock for a bite to eat. He was super-cool… no Margarita though

A few months later during one of the Presidents (Clinton, I think) was coming to town and they were thinking having him come do a stop at the same place (he never did make it). Anyway, the Secret Service does all kinds of research and they were in talking to the manager asking about access, getting in/out, etc. The manager was kind of a jokester and when they asked about landing a plane on the water his response was, “Jimmy Buffet did it, so do you think you can?” Secret Service guy didn’t seem amused
