After the shower passes the shower pan inspection the tile guy cuts em to his convinence so his tile work looks good. OR the stud lay out/dry guy runs some nail thru the pan. I would always advise a builder to have a recessed shower, at least 6 inches, if it leaks it won’t go anywhere.
