Yes it is very sad. The news is reporting the home was “inspected” for sink hole coverage just prior to the sinkhole opening.
I cannot stress enough that inspecting and documenting the homes cracks does not constitute a “sinkhole inspection”.
They have equipment for that. Whoever sold the insurance industry on these walk around sinkhole inspections to qualify for sinkhole coverage is a snake oil salesman.
It will ultimately be used as an excuse to once again raise insurance rates in the State.
