When I worked as a fire sprinkler installer I saw something much worse one day. Unfortunately, I had no camera, but I will try and explain.
It was a 5th floor of a new condo building. They were adding the trim they forgot above the windows. They used a board much like the one in the second pic. One guy inside sitting on the end, a short peice extending out the window with the second guy standing on it attaching the trim. If someone came by an accidently whacked the first, or he jumped............

im sure they had better ways of doin the painting ,funny did you see anyone on the ladder?ive seen worse stuf done by siding crews.like a 1x10as a stagein plank 20 feet in the air lolo

theres a couple nice OSHA fines.
I was working construction on a meat packing plant. I was in a Snorkel Lift 40 feet above the floor.
The OSHA guy came unplugged my brand new drop chord, and cut the end off of it because a piece of black tape fell on the chord. .
I see companies get away with stuff like in those pictures all the time and it makes me mad.
