An Ohio Licensed Home Inspector CAN inspect a newly built home for a client.
As has been said before, “Home Inspectors are not Code Inspectors”.

Absolute nonsense comparing an AHJ and home inspector.
In Toronto, Ontario, builders and developers are trying this very tactic to have new buildings verified. Not going to fly in Canada. Not going to fly stateside in Ohio.

New construction inspections ARE code inspections! How do you inspect the electrical system? R.C 3783 strictly prohibits its inspection by ANYONE other than an ESI.
Do you verify proper installation of the trusses per the truss drawings?
The state has a checklist for inspecting new construction. Do you use that?
What exactly do you inspect on new construction?

That is an outright lie. Parks has been going into as many discussions as he can to spread his lies. This one has been beat to death in one of the discussions in the electrical section.
He also claims to have been certified on the first day that Ohio certified contractors in 2006. We first had State certification more than a decade before that. I started my business in 1992 to provide training and consulting. We were among the first training agencies in Ohio offering continuing education for contractor certification.

By the way, I took a screenshot today of the City of Toledo web page where it mentions the two Electrical Contractor licenses and Parks is still saying they don’t exist.
