Absolutely and then some. Not doing your job fully only fuels more re-inspections.

So those who do the re inspections track down the information the clients are supposed to provide? How would that benefit their bosses and why would they if their job is to take away?

Most homeowners don’t have a clue what to provide for the inspector. It’s easier for me to get it myself than sift through a pile of useless paperwork provided by the client…if they even have it.

Not if they don’t own the home yet.

I have never had anyone really have any trouble doing their own responsibility.

I tell then to contact the local bldg and ask for a roof permit history report showing a passed final inspection. They almost all get it.

I tell them many municipalities have the information available on line and to check their first.

I have had about 3 pay me to do it. I explain I can do it for a fee but that most customers choose to do it themselves.

It is a great way to give them an inspection that cost less to perform and therefor costs the clients less.
