Hi, @rjamaluddin. I saw your initial post. Good question. And, yes. Florida Standards of Practice require home inspectors to test the smoke detectors. And carbon monoxide detectors. The standards are available from the DBPR site and our information page at www.nachi.org/florida.

The wire should be tight to the wall and not protrude so that it can get snagged and pulled by a passer by, but I’m not an experienced electrician, should I get a second opinion?
