I’m trying to figure out if the supply wiring for this sub panel is the right gauge. It looks like it is a 10 or 12 gauge. It’s single strand copper. Just going by eye it looks small. This sub panel is for a garage that was built after the house. Can anyone just look at this and tell me if the supply wiring is heavy enough? Input and education appreciated.

Typically, the wire size is related to the breaker that it comes from. What size breaker was it that was feeding this and what size is the wire?
They do look too small but hard to tell from a photo.
Do you know the protection ahead of these “supply” wires?
That makes perfect sense. I’ll pay closer attention to the upstream breaker next time. Thanks.
