What is the age of a Takagi Tankless water heater Serail # 15012844.

The date of manufacture is encoded in the first 4 digit of the serial number. They represent the year and week of production.

In your case, the Takagi unit was made in “2015”, and on the 12th week.

This is what the Building Center website states (that the year is encoded in the serial number - see link below).

However, I just ran into one that has a serial number of “141140204” (2014) and an ANSI date of 2017 all on the same sticker.
