There is a link, I copied and pasted and for some reason it turned out funky.

The rulemaking date has been set for March 23.

I guess after that date we know the cost and which test for the license.

Fellow Nachi members. There has been a bill introduced in the Tennessee House (HB257) and a similar bill introduced in the Senate to delay the licensing bill until 2007. It is rumored that a group of ASHI members upset that one certain member was not asked to join the Advisory Committee and that non inspectors were also appointed to the committee. the danger here is the delay can allow groups to try to change the law so that one group has control of the licensing for Tennessee. I have sent email to the House Committee members, as well as everyone in my address book to ask for defeat of these Bills. Now is the time to act, less you want another group to possibly control this process and our businesses!

The public hearing is for the rules that include the standards of practice and code of ethics among other items. You can get a copy of this document by contacting Carol Kennedy at the Department of Commerce and Insurance (See previous posted contact info).

Joe, I am not doubting you, as a member of the Advisory Board, and a memder of ASHI you should know. Can you direct me to the bill? Thanks for all you work with the state.

Joe:

Let me know what assistance you may need.

Look at HB 2577 or SB 3308

They are almost all NACHI members: http://www.nachi.org/tnlicensingprogram.htm

Joe, let me know what we need to do, will help anyway we can. I am sending an email today.

I would also like to know what I can do to help, or whom I need to call. I belive licensing is key to our industry, and to helping it grow in a positive way.

If you are in Tennessee, I recommend you email your representative today!

I have already e-mailed congessman Gordan

I was told by carol Kennedy that the licensure would go through as planned. The bill has very little backing, but will still have to go through the process.

I may be retired by 2007!

Ben,

I passed through Rives a week ago. Didn’t see you around though!

The rules were posted on the state’s web site today:

http://www.state.tn.us/commerce/boards/hic/pdf/NoticeOfRulemaking022406.pdf

Just looking over them real fast, they appear to be better than most states.  </IMG></IMG>

Which part were you in? I live in the Crockett Bottoms area, around the "coke man’s " new house.

Does anyone know which tests will be used?

Rumor has it being the NHIE.

That is what rumor says. I have sent an email to Carol Kennedy for conformation on that. Sent it yesterday, so hopefully today she will reply. She, and other legislators also assured me they want the bill to procede as posted with out waiting for 2007
