In review of the inspector members of the local realtor association, I see a few of my competitors licenses are expired or have taken inactive status. I have approx 15 competitors that are members of the local realtor association. A fellow Texas inspector posted on another board that TREC stated in a fall meeting there were only 3% of the 6000+ issued licensed inspectors in actual business today in Texas.
Anyone have info on this percentage? I know there are more than 180 inspectors open for business in Texas. I believe there are 2500+ active total licenses ( to include all three license levels).
Also I see the January TAREI meeting is one day seminar with undisclosed panel of industry leaders to discuss the future of this industry and current issues in Texas.
Nick, are one of the "undisclosed" panel members? I know you could not disclose if you were, and I wish you were.

Andy, I am all for the new requirements as I have seen too much shoddy work in my 30 years of construction. As far as the new laws for mold remeditions, yes. There are too many companies that are “raping” the client by charging too much for what they are doing.
No, I will not be going to SA for the TAREI convention.
