The ESOP Is A Joke

You kind of sound like Mario Kyriacou did at one time.

You do not have to respect me to serve. There are many contributions you can make to this org.

Like I said… volunteer your time and energy. Come forward with ideas, only to have some bonehead from Podunk tell you you are an idiot. Cmmitt do doing something, only to have some bozo from Outer Bumf u c k with four posts to his name and the ink on his entrance exam still wet tell you that you had no right to do something and you shold have consulted the entire membership first

We’re all adults here.

Toto, we’re not in Kansas anymore.

You couldn’t be more wrong. You think name calling is ethical? You are supposed to be on an ethics committee and fail hard at it.

And many more…

No wonder the ESOP has no authority or respect. You are the cause of me having less and less respect for this MB and this Org. The best you can do is curse and name call? Good grief, someone has been a member for 4-5 months and your BEST advice you can give is stay the “F” away? I’ll await your mature response.

And as far as someone volunteering time to an organization and expecting a return, you fail again.

Volunteering is generally considered an altruistic activity and is intended to promote good or improve human quality of life (you failed)](“Quality of life - Wikipedia”). In return, this activity produces a feeling of self-worth and respect:(you failed) however, there is no financial gain. Volunteering is also renowned for skill development, socialization, and fun (wow, you failed again). Many volunteers are specifically trained in the areas they work (were you trained? Fail?)

Billy,

This is a corporation, with shares held by a person.

The owner makes the rules. Not you. Not me.

Want a true say? Start your own org. No kidding. You’ll need to invest lots of money, personal sacrifice, 24-hour work marathons, have a thick skin, don’t listen to advice, have a vision, and around 15 years of time to throw away.

Then, if everything hits just right and you become the largest inspection org in the world, just before taking your first vacation in 10 years, you can have a member tell you that he thought there was a real Board of Directors and that you should not be the sole decision maker.

Nick is a genius, a visionary, a savvy businessman, and DRIVEN like no other human I have ever met. Aside from that, he is intelligent, funny, a humanitarian, and a nice guy.

I am PROUD too call him my friend, and despite differences, will defend him to the end.

Despite its warts, NACHI is still the BEST place to be in this industry. Bar none.

Im guessing the next move is to play…

Whatever, George…

Don’t really care. I’ve been here through it all. You’ve been here for 5 minutes.

Clint can shave a duck. No one cares. Hey, doesn’t he have a house to sell or something?

Isn’t Clint some award-winning realtor or something? Is this a sideline for him?

I understand what you’re saying but if the owner wants to be who I know he can be I would disban the ESOP and set up a committee voted in by members of this org. You must give the membership some sort of ownership before they will truly believe in your direction 100%. I truly believe people would not complain or worry about people who themself put in office over people are hand selected by the owner himself or by one particular board member. It simply appears to be a dictatorship as I stated before. We must have a voted in board and a majority of the hands that goes up on that board should be the final say. Can the owner have veto power sure but atleast the members will have little to complain about because they voted in the board themself. In order for any great org/business to work people must take pride in what they believe in.

LOL. Remember that one, Joe? What was it called? The Members Advisory Board? That one is worth researching the archives for.

Was this board exactly like the ESOP James?

This is a profession to me. My sideline is pointing out how immature some members are with their cursing and the need to put others down to make them feel superior.

Award winning? Hell yes!! I volunteered many years to REALTORs, national, state (100,000+ members) and local (30,000+ members) and have many awards to prove it (given by my peers). I have been asked as lately as 3/13 to serve again on the MLS (35,000+ members). What do you have other than a bad attitude, a limited 4 letter vocabulary and a membership that does not respect you?

It tried to be. Broke up and went away in about six months as I recall.

The naïveté exhibited in this thread is very interesting.

The perception that this is a member run organization is quite curious. I wonder where the notion came from?

James, Joe, Nick whoever,

Take it how you guys want to see it but perception as we all know will make or break any company or organization. With all that is offered here I don’t think we will ever truly break but IMO I simply think we would be even larger if we had the trust this organization deserves. IMO some people simply don’t trust.

Billy,

The problem with any “election” is that it is supposed to represent the membership. For that to happen, more than 200 votes would need to happen. We have 10,000 members.

Also, the shape of ESOP could quickly form into a body that has a specific agenda. What some have incorrectly characterized ESOP as, could truly come to fruition iin an “elected” format which does not represent the membership as a whole.

Face it, only a handful post on the MB, as compared to 10,000 who theoretically could.

As I said, ESOP will consider you when there is an opening.

In my opinion if we had an election to seat the board weather it be you guys returning or new one’s we would indeed have over 200 votes.

Joe writes:

He and I both have tremendous respect for you Joe. Tremendous respect.

Joe knows me very well, and knows that when I look at this whole situation, I see it as mostly going perfectly. I see every side of it having improved. Joe once said something to the effect that I see every 1/2 empty cup as nearly full. I do on this issue as well.

That’s funny!!:p:p:p:p:p
You couldn’t cut it a used house salesman Clit, that’s why you’re here isn’t it??? Or did they send you here to clean up this organization??
If you were so good and successful, what are you doing here???

I was thinking the same thing, but wait didn’t he try his hand at appraising also?

Jim

Are there many home inspectors where this was their first career? What’s your point?

So what did did you do before home inspections? I’ll have to look back and see exactly what you said you did and get back to ya and post it here (unless you aren’t afraid too do it yourself).

I did well at appraising, however, that industry changed dramatically with the help of govenment stepping all over it. It now requires a 3rd party (AMC’s) and they take 60-70% of the fee, dictate the turn times and reporting requirements, so I only do CPA and attorney work. I am approved in the 9th district of courts as an expert witness in appraising, but that is not enough business to keep my lifestyle going. I loved appraising, getting out of the office, inspecting, meeting new people and writing the report. It rolled over nicely into home inspection as I was essentially doing the same thing with different results.

You might want to try and have a thought of your own once in a while. Look at a majority of your pasts posts, they all go something like “I agree or That is correct or exactly or bingo or …” All you do is suck up to the 20k posters and try to make yourself look important. Everyone sees it, lol.

Go for it, it is all public info. Please look it all up it it has been quite a interresting road as I have owned/bought several successful businesses. Some would shock many people here. I never worked for the man (since 18 yrs old) however as I just can’t handle not being in control. Now I am quite comfortable with my little multi inspector co, small as it may be but it is mine and does extremely well for over 10 years.

Jim
