The Grounding Truth Mike Holt

LOL,
I would report this thread as being off topic but it wouldn’t do much good.

Where did you get that information at?

I am not going into all those questions, but will suggest Mike Holts Theory of Electricity course.

peter, if you are so sensitive to EMF why would you want to be a home inspector? you would be around too much EMF’s inspecting the AC , electrical systems, and from working on your cell phone, digital camera, computer. sounds like you need to set your self up in a faraday cage to do the inspections. with your camera on a selfy stick outside the cage. to keep the EMF at bay around you. Sounds like you can do good home inspections for the Amish. with a verbal report.

You were not discriminated against. We can choose to answer question or not to answer your question. We are not performing a home inspection. In fact, this was not even a home inspection question.

But, you may be able to offer services for people who are inflicted with similar conditions. However, you are asking a lot of questions about why things are done the way they are.

I would focus on modern technology that will help you observe and report possible harmful “substances”. You could be a leader in the field with enough research and education. Just like the pioneers of radon testing or infrared technology.

I hope you feel better, you might want to “Call Saul”.

If you’re worried about the bees, then you have other issues you should be investigating, like cell towers, WIFI, satellites, etc… not panel bonding…

You win the kewpie doll! Eddie was played by what actor?

Beat me to it! Lauren Bacall also says it later in the movie to Humphrey Bogart as a tease.

Is that shielding grounded or just bonded?

You are WAY over thinking this… The only reason they are bonded at the service panel is to ground the metal enclosure… And to ground the home in the event of a power surge.
Without turning the neutral bar into a grounding bar by bonding them, there would be no way for the breaker to trip in the event the panel becomes energized. No ground=No overcurrent protection.
Current is going to travel back on the neutral to the transformer regardless, not into the ground. That is the path of least resistance, the ground has too much resistance for normal current flow.

I heard tin foil works.

Peter:

Your topics of bonding and grounding are really two different things. Trying to tie them together along with proper wire sizing can be understood mathematically. I feel you are formulating questions based on only part of the information available. I have been an electrical engineer for decades and have also been inspecting structures and systems for decades. I know now much more than I knew way back in the day. Learn more, speak less. You will go further than you could guess. There are concepts that carry over from electronics and your IT background but that is not the whole picture. You need a better understanding of how the theory of single/multiphase systems work. This will give you a base to answer your own questions. It also sounds like you may need to work on accepting other opinions even if you do not agree. I’m in my 60’s now and learned to say less if I do not completely agree with others. Not everyone is a troll. They just have a different opinion.
