This is why we dont operate tpr valves

Not to mention… does he plan on making the correction when/before he eventually sells his home, or hope the home inspector for the buyer misses it???

Seems to me it should be repaired asap, so he can receive the benefit of a proper system for the duration of his ownership.

Wonder if he’s Meeker’s buddy?

Careful! You guys are becoming “obnoxious”!

Obviously I would note it in the report but it does work properly as is. I have no intention of fixing it. You guys are not obnoxious you are very helpful. The distribution piping that is. The discharge piping will get fixed when I change the water heater.

Actually the code is 3/4 inch plumbing but the house is 60 years old. It doesn’t have a step between the garage and the house, it has 1/2 inch piping, it did not have GFCI or three prong outlets(which i have added) and I am sure there is a myriad of other code issues. I doubt if the inspector did catch those things, which mine didn’t, that a buyer would walk away. I am sure it was code compliant at one point.

Just hope it doesn’t blow before that.

3/4 inch plumbing code?

2-prong outlets are Not a “code violation”.

When/if you replaced 2-prong outlets with 3-prongs did you update the wiring to include a ground?

Yeah the distribution piping has to be at least 3/4 inch. I was referring to the gfci and there were already grounds. They were connected to the box. I’m not that green man.

And what material were the boxes made from?

They were metal…But the grounds are on thr outlets now.
