Timeline on landing first job

not everyone just you and your negative attitude. i hope we are in the same market lol

I’ve already asked you once where you are located? As for my attitude it is pragmatic after decades of experience and dealing with similar people.

I just have the RE take photos and send them to me so I can phone it in.

I am honing my skills. Zillow now has 360-degree photos. You only have to know what to look for and feed it to AI.

Btw, I do not hate you. Far from it.

One lesson I have learned on this forum is not to seek the answers I want, but the answers I need. Often the answers I need are the most offensive.

This is a tough question to get answered. I only know of a couple inspectors that shared the hardships of year one. You have people counting on you so you may need to find another job and do the inspection gig weekends until you start to slot in a regular cadence of inspections.

I’m in year one too and I’m focusing on my website for now; hoping to reign is some stragglers. I’m going to throw some money at google and see if that works. I’m not hard up on cash so it’s not as painful for me.

The way I look at it, your business will start to snowball but getting the ball rolling is a bit of a challenge.

The thing that works best for me is pressing the flesh. Go to every real estate office you can find and drop off cards and swag. Try to actually meet with agents and if you can swing it do some group presentations.

It’s a little harder to do post Covid but that seems to bring in the most business.

As a newbie you’re going to probably only get in with newbie agents and they are on a revolving door. It’s a tough business and they wash out frequently.

Other areas seem to benefit from google, yelp etc. but around here most people rely on their real estate professional to make recommendations.

I was thinking the same thing. T and R are on the forum all day  must be a liberal thing. No work.

Most inspectors take about 2-3 years to make a full-time living.

The 1st year of ANY business is hard.

I highly suggest reading this:

Coming up with statistically and contextually inaccurate data must be a MAGA thing. If forum participation was an accurate indication of work load, J and M must have a lot of time on their hands.

The Rest of the Story…

I think equating time on the forum and how much business is being done is a bit of a cheap shot. Not everyone operates in a traditional 5-10 residential inspections-a-week model with a phone in their hand. Some inspectors are partially retired, take only larger jobs, do commercial and specialty work, draw inspections, etc.

I no longer inspect because I make so much more money as a Gigolo. Also because most of the women I service are so old and sleep so much I have plenty of time for posting on the BB.

This is admin data, why is this available? Time to create some privacy rules.

If you want privacy that’s what the bathroom is for. Just make sure you don’t have any cameras there for your security system.

What’s the “story”? Comparing our stats is a meaningless exercise.
