Why was Ray Epps never arrested for encouraging the Capitol riot? He appears to be a Federal agent, that’s why. Since the first World Trade Center bombing, and even before that with the Oklahoma City courthouse bombing, the modus operandi of the FBI and other Deep State alphabet agencies has been to entrap American dissidents into serving as patsies for large-scale destructive operations that are then used as the pretext for eroding American civil liberties.
You’ve missed my point. Rittenhouse killed two unarmed men and was acquitted. Had the involved officer been charged, he would have been acquitted as well based on your premise. Besides, your comparison is totally unrelated and irrelevant.
Not true! Start over.
Not really, the capital police officer was never charged, placed in front of a grand jury or persecuted publicly. Certainly not to the degree Rittenhouse or Darrel Wilson. Even though Police are held to a much higher standard, especially when it is an unarmed person of smaller stature (yes, that plays a roll)
A skateboard? Really???!!! What did the other guy have, a tube of toothpaste? Give me a break.
I definitely could beat someone to death with a skate board, not sure why you do not think that is dangerous. My friend was placed into a comma for 8 months after getting beat with a mop handle.
But I digress. I just want to make sure we are talking about the same set of facts.
After a man chased him into a parking lot and grabbed the barrel of his rifle, Rittenhouse fatally shot him.[10][11][12] Rittenhouse fled and was pursued by a crowd. He fatally shot a second man after he struck Rittenhouse with a skateboard and tried to grab his rifle.[8][13][14] Rittenhouse wounded a third when he was approached and had a handgun pointed at him.
Oh, so I guess Kyle had no right to use deadly force when he was being attacked by a mob, and with deadly weapons…
You don’t think someone can be killed, or at best, seriously impaired for the rest of their life with a skateboard??
My thoughts exactly. Outrage all over the country for Michael Brown, and the spark that ignited the whole BLM movement, and the “hands up, dont shoot” ideology.
Except in his situation, the officer was completely justified in shooting him.
Lets see, if a man twice my size fights for my gun in my patrol car, and the gun discharges into the floor of the cruiser, then later, he comes running towards me in the middle of the street at full speed, do you think I would reach for my taser?? And hope that I hit him?
I would absolutely take my sidearm and empty 10 rounds into him.
But yet, the media was all over it, defending this “unarmed, innocent victim”!
That’s the best you have? I’m pretty sure you have never met my parents. I think senility is catching up to you.
If you want to compare Ms. Babbitt’s death to similar cases, compare it to deaths of unarmed people at the hands of police.
I was just looking through some photos of the riots. I see a lot of cops in really bad situations. I am just curious when the order to “shoot to kill” on the rioters was issued? Many of the police certainly showed restraint when facing similar threats. I understand Mr. Byrd was pissing down his leg at the time. But what set that moment apart? The moment when it was OK to shoot an unarmed woman?
I think it’s because each of us perceive things differently.
Certainly, I agree. A 28 year veteran likely has some training which would begin a “check down” Which begins with at the lowest power and increases in force as needed to meet the threat. Such as non-lethal escalating to lethal.
Though I think he was panicked and had predetermined the first person that poked their head through that door was going down. I watched his finger move off and on the trigger, as if “now? no wait. Now?.. then yes now!. Boom”. That was his “check down” apparently.
Did Ashli really pose a direct physical threat to him at that time? Did any higher up say " safeties off, fire at will"? And why is it impossible for anyone to be outraged by her death? It fits all the boxes, except…
No one has ever said or argued she presented that killer with deadly force
Everyone knows now that she was unarmed at the time of the shooting, no one knew as she was crawling through the window that she wasn’t carrying. She crossed a line she shouldn’t have.
I guess you didn’t bother to watch ALL of the videos of police shooting unarmed people, oh well, people choose watch what will fit their agenda. And, if police feel that they are in imminent harm orders aren’t given to them to shoot, they make that decision themselves, like Lt. Byrd did.
No, you couldn’t have easily scrolled past this thread, you have proven that.
We try to make sure the titles of our threads in the Misc section accurately reflect the topic so that no one who is interested in certain topics, accidentally clicks on them, accidentally scrolls down on them, and accidentally reads them.
Nor your opinions… If you don’t like it, move on.
I am not sure what you are saying. On one hand, we have a bunch of videos of cops shooting unarmed people; typically in a questionably way. But Officer Byrd is excluded from the category because he is “allowed to make that decision himself”? Please clarify the distinction.
For the record, I believe every single shooting of an unarmed person demands intense scrutiny. I would go as far to say every single one of them should be judged by a grand jury…each and every time.
I also think cops use many intimidation tactics which causes people to incriminate themselves or open to search or seizure. One of my suggested cures for traffic stops and people being detained is that a citizen can request a “civil rights advocate” be called to the scene before answering any questions or allowing any searches. I can expand on that for anyone who is interested.
I’ll be sure to stay out of the MISC section. I assumed it was for MISC HI topics since it’s a HI forum but now I know otherwise.
