Can’t complain about square, it runs smooth. We do our invoicing through it as well.
And nobody is monitoring your transactions and fees……Nick.
Thanks, Ryan, appreciate the reply. That’s how we work with our vacation rental management company. They either enter details online when booking or are sent a link to make the payment. Though, that’s using Vacation Rent Payment who as you might guess only deals with rentals.
Martin, are you getting 2.6% with a card swipe, cardless transaction or via payment link?
I believe it’s 2.9% plus 40 cents when an invoice is paid online using their app. I factor in 3% for every inspection unless paying with cash or check.
Costco/Elavon - I’ve been using them for 15+ years and have never found anyone with better rates for “non-swiped” transactions. There’s some variation depending on the type of card used but I think it’s around 2.4% aggregate. I honestly haven’t checked for a while. All I need to know is whenever anyone tries to win my business and I tell them who I’m with they give up.
I think the money shows up within a few days but honestly don’t pay attention. If anyone is living or dying by how fast their merchant service payments show up into their account they have more to worry about than a couple tenths of points on fees.
I did speak with Costco. They are now offering 1.9% on all cards below $3,000 per transaction. She said something other about Amex, but I questioned her again and she said even Amex below $3,000 per is still 1.9% with no hidden fees. Perhaps they adjusted their rates. However, Spectora only integrates with Square & Stripe. Though, we will be looking at inspector toolbelt since they did a big new release today I believe which is supposed to have everything integrated.
I don’t think ISN will let you do Costco/Elavon either. I started a second company (so 2nd ISN account) and had to throw a bit of a fit to use Costco/Elavon. They finally let me since I was “grandfathered” with my first company. With ISN it’s not that they can’t, they just make more money getting kickbacks or whatever from Guardian.
