Truss lateral bracing

95% of the time when I see trusses installed without the required lateral bracing you can’t see any bowing of the compression web member. However today was an exception here are the photos. Note these trusses were install in 1980 and had RED tags instead of the GREEN tags I see now:

Thanks Randy. I have seen this a couple times, do you just recommend the bracing when you see this? Or is there more that should be said?
thx

Unless the web is broken I just recommend adding the bracing while straightening the web as best as they can before nailing the brace.

Could you teach us about the meaning of the RED or GREEN tag?

I am guessing Bracing requirements

The red one appears to be similar

No wonder the braces aren’t there. Billy Bob carpenter doesn’t understand “upside down” language.

Seriously, that was a big problem in the outlying areas up here and an important repair to narrate.
