Unusual looking framing in attic

damn, maybe they were just better trusses. i’m not gonna bother reading any of that but we did put rat runs in them but that wasn’t bracing, it was just to set the bottom chord on layout. anything else we put on them we took off. there was one guy that used 2x4 blocking up top that i remembered, but he was an idiot and set the cornfield on fire burning scrap. took out almost 45 acres. he left after payday, we rolled in monday morning and he never showed. fun times…

The answer to so many improper installations? :man_shrugging:

That is often the reason why bracing is not installed.

You don’t think that is information that you need as a home inspector?

not in the slightest.

You don’t care if the trusses are installed correctly? Do you think the buyer of a home feels the same?

piss off. that is a bullshit answer and it looks like i’ve found yet another one to block. too bad too, you seem to give pretty decent information most of the time. perhaps i should have listened when i was advised not to spend so much time on this message board, but i do love learning new things. it’s just about time to give it a break though, home inspections are way too easy to get right, and with the caliber of inspectors around it isn’t that hard to do better. nah, i’ll keep you around and ignore the bullshit, which is pretty easy with your posts. you give mostly good info.

do try to have fun today, unless that isn’t your thing.

I agree. Breaks can be good.

Jeff made a good point about constantly moving forward in order to better serve the community. He was taken back by how quickly you dismissed information as not relevant. So was I.

Why did you chime in? Because you were on a framing crew once? Fair, let’s hear it. But what followed was perplexing.

Not really, very telling. Another example of how dangerous Al can/will be.

The most dangerous time of being in any trade or profession is when you think you know everything. Yet you’re too arrogant to understand that you don’t know what you don’t know. Lose your attitude and take advantage of the information that is being placed in front of you.

This one blocks all of the members that have experience and professional advice. The know-everything-guys won’t last long in this line of work.

i aplogize for my unprofessionalism. it was a bad day. that is no excuse however. i will try harder to maintain it.

of course you are correct. i aplogize for my unprofessionalism. it was a bad day. for the record, i know that i don’t know everything, and that is the key to learning. some things are just not worth knowing however.
